Flash Talks on Computing at Annual Meeting, June 9

The Baltimore ACM Chapter invites you to join us for an evening of
Flash Talks on Computing, in conjunction with the Annual General
Meeting of the Chapter. The program will consist of twelve,
five-minute flash talks on various topics related to computing.

ACM Student Chapter Career Day at Johns Hopkins, Saturday, April 17

The Baltimore Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, in
cooperation with the Johns Hopkins ACM Student Chapter, is holding a
"Career Day" that will present talks about working in the IT industry
in Baltimore.

ACM Student Chapter Career Day at Johns Hopkins, Saturday, April 17

The Baltimore ACM Chapter, in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins ACM
Student Chapter, is holding a "Career Day" on Saturday, April 17,
starting at 1:30 pm on the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. This event
consists of a series of short talks about working in the IT industry
in Baltimore. It's a chance to learn from practitioners about the
career opportunities available in the region.

Cybermaryland

The Baltimore ACM Chapter would like to announce the following lecture:

In January, Governor O'Malley announced plans for Maryland to lead the
country in cybersecurity by establishing a National Center of
Excellence for Cyber Security and released the report titled
"Cybermaryland: Epicenter for Information Security and Innovation":

Adam Suri of the Maryland State Department of Business and Economic
Development will speak on the "CyberMaryland" report, the current
progress on this initiative, and how it relates to federal
cybersecurity efforts.

Bringing Google Fiber to Baltimore

You may have heard of the Google Fiber for Communities Initiative
in which Google will select locations to deploy optical fiber
for high-speed Internet access to homes. Google has issued
a Request for Information (RFI) and solicits nominations here:
